AsiaWPA Competition Winner Interview : Luigi Fedeli
A : What are your reasons for becoming a photographer?
L : I became a photographer because I can express myself freely with the camera telling the stories, love and passions of people
A : What are your views regarding photography competitions, and what have your gained from that?
L : Photographers should always compete. Many do not for fear of being judged. In reality, judgment helps you grow
A : What are your tips regarding posing when shooting bride & groom together photos?
L : The pose must be natural. Who looks at the photo should not understand that it is a pose. It is the photographer’s ability to do this.
A : How do you maintain your passion in photography?
L : Update, passion, experimentation, results. My clients are looking for me for this.
A : Please share about your thought process when shooting your AWPA award-winning photos (please attach the photos too).
L : I was happy to have been chosen and rewarded by Asia WPA. I won first place 2016 a second place 2017 and 9 excellence awards. A great result for me
A : During post-processing, how do you decide on which feel and colour tone to use (please attach an example).
A : Any new shooting style you would like to try? Any new methods or new shooting location that you would like to explore?
L : I think I’m a fairly complete photographer. I often study my work and I am always ready to look at things from another point of vie
A : How do you get your inspiration?
L : I am inspired by observing everyday life. Reading books. Watching a good movie
A : Which photographer(s) inspires you most?
L : I have no preferences. There are many good photographers in the world. But everyone has his style of representing. I have mine and I do not want to be influenced by others
A : What are your plans for the future?
L : Continue to practice and improve me. There is never a moment that you can say enough. As long as I succeed I will make my way
A : What do you feel you need to improve or learn more?
L : Post production is always a good challenge. Always discover new things to improve your photography
A : What has been your biggest challenge so far during photo shooting?
L : My challenges during the marriage period are many. I often do 2 weddings in one day and I have to run a lot between one marriage and another. The biggest challenge? To photograph 2 spouses under a mountain at – 15 degrees of temperature.
A : Apart from wedding photography, any other photography area(s) that you are also interested in exploring?
L : I am very experienced in portrait photography (people) and food
A : Any best tips for other fellow or new photographers?
L : Studying studying studying and experimenting. The search for one’s own style is important. Finding the best ways to make yourself known is the next step.
A : What do you think your clients value most about you or your work?
L : Surely the style and the feeling that express my photographs
A : What is your source of creativity?
L : My thoughts. Look at reality and see it differently before making a click
A : It’s not easy to shoot for babies and kids. Any tips or experience that you’d like to share with us? (please attach an example)
L : Yes, first thing to talk to mothers and learn about your baby’s habits (for example, if you sleep more in the morning or in the afternoon). The mother has to breastfeed the baby in your pose room. Warm and clean environment. Shutter to light window or continuous light. No flash!
A : Let us know your most unforgettable shoot (please attach an example).
L : This is the photo that has won all over the world
